Opatija is a historic coastal town located in western Croatia, on the Adriatic Sea. It lies near the city of Rijeka and at the foot of Mount Učka.
Opatija is known as one of the oldest tourist destinations in Croatia, with a tradition of tourism dating back to the 19th century when it was a popular seaside resort for the Austro-Hungarian elite.
Opatija hosts many festivals and cultural events throughout the year, including music, gastronomy, and traditional celebrations. Tourism is the main economic activity. Opatija is also famous for its Luxury hotels, wellness tourism, Conferences and cultural events.
