Pula has a history spanning over 3,000 years. It was an important city during the Roman Empire, which left a strong architectural legacy. Later, it was ruled by the Venetians, Austro-Hungarians, and became part of modern Croatia after the 20th century.

The city is served by Pula Airport, which connects it to many European destinations, especially during the tourist season.
